I have been practicing yoga with Amy for many years and through 2 major surgeries due to breast cancer. Each time I stopped, I was eager to get back to Amy knowing she wouldn't let me do anything to injure myself. She is an enthusiastic yoga teacher who combines her skill with her long term teaching experiences in designing classes that have a predictable format and offer options for each level of practice. She is easily able to suggest pose adaptations post injury, surgery, etc. - always focusing on self care and prevention of injury. It is clear she excels in her understanding of anatomy and is able to explain the rationale for each pose and the effect on the body. Her demonstrations are flawless. She is the best yoga teacher I have had in my 10 years of practice with various teachers in many settings. - Lee Ann

I first took class with Amy in a beginner yoga series. Thanks to her, the foundations of my practice are solid. I’m able to self-check my hypermobility while allowing myself to go deeper into postures. She is able to encourage bringing out my best while she quiets harsh self judgment. I’ve had both private and group classes with Amy, and they are always balanced, facilitating and a joy. - Brenda

Amy has been an absolutely wonderful yoga teacher for the many years I have been attending class. As someone in their 20s, I have found that yoga can be intimidating because I commonly feel like I am one step behind all the young trendy yogis around me. Amy takes things step-by-step while still allowing me to tackle new challenges. Her calming voice, expert demonstrations, and thoughtful intentions are a highlight for me each time I see her. Her yoga instruction has been a light in my life and has given me the foundation I need to drive my own yoga practice. So thankful for her!! - Kelly

Over the years, Amy's teachings have provided a practice which gently weaves the combination of building a strong foundation with Amy guiding and growing one's unique practice on the mat. Amy's classes bring together her soothing expertise of yoga and the understanding of our bodies, sprinkled with music & laughter, which all quite simply, feeds the soul. ~ Cecilia, Middle School Psychologist

Amy sets a tone that flows from beginning to end and helps her students and clients gain perspective throughout. She has a way of creating a challenging class while also encouraging her students to listen to their bodies and maintain mindfulness. As a former athlete, my tendency is to go overboard so that I feel like I’m getting a workout. Amy has helped me to learn a valuable lesson ...that we can be challenged and build strength while listening to our bodies and staying within our own limits. - Maura

Amy's ability to read a classroom and transform that information into just the right yoga practice for that precise moment is amazing! Her combination of mindfulness and movement leaves my mind clear and my body relaxed - NOT an easy task!! - Jen

One of the things that I really love most about Amy’s teaching style is how customized it is to each individual, without ever making anyone feel like they are being singled for having limitations. She has a way of suggesting various adjustments and varieties of movement that is just seamless even in a whole group setting. This has been huge for someone like me who doesn't always feel as nimble or strong as some others in the class. She meets the group where they’re at and welcomes feedback about what we would like to work on. I always love when she incorporates myofascial release techniques as that's something I had never connected to a yoga class before and it makes so much sense to weave it into the practice - it has truly been a game changer for me, especially during pregnancy when I was suffering with sciatic nerve pain. And she always has this perfect way of ending class...magical!- Jennifer

Amy has a way of adapting yoga specifically to her student’s unique needs. I recommend her classes to everyone. Whether you're an athlete, musician, teacher....any age and ability level - she can do it all! ~ Trish

Amy has a very kind, warm, accepting energy and such a positive presence that you can feel immediately even despite the virtual format of today. She is extremely passionate about the field that she is in. She is SUCH a great active listener, at times reciting words that I have said back to me to be sure that she has understood which is very therapeutic for my healing. Most importantly, the exercises and techniques that we have practiced in session I feel I can actually incorporate and translate into my life, which has helped to relieve the tension and pain that I have been experiencing. - AllieI have been taking yoga with Amy Yapp off and on for years. She has such a gentle, caring way of running her classes. She is so informative on how all the muscles all work and knows how to gently but powerfully target the “hot” spots. I always feel at peace and strengthened after a yoga session with Amy! She’s simply the best! - Ashley

Amy's class is a unique blend of yoga, strength training, meditation and self care. Each class is different and I come away with new ideas to incorporate into my own yoga/meditation routine. I always leave a session calm and refreshed - love working with her! Amy’s knowledge and compassion around all things hypermobility is outstanding. Her style, voice and presence are amazing and her sessions are magical like she is! So good!! ~ Kathy
